Surveyor-General of this Colony, containing particulars of the Office of Inspector of Buildings, rendered vacant by the death of Mr. R. Heate, and requesting that it may be filled up at an early date.
With respect to the... enquiry of Mr. Hallick as to whether any further acknowledgment of Mr. Heate's services could be made by Government, I have the honour to express my concurrence with the reply made by the Colonial Secretary, to the effect that there is no provision in the Colonial Service for the grant of pensions or gratuities to the children of deceased Colonial Officers.
